How to seek and gain support from an experienced and trusted adviser.

• Identify someone who is easy to talk to, someone you admire, has knowledge and experience, but also importantly wants the best for you.
• Let the person know your expectations. Be clear about what you want and need, and why you think they can help. Determine your estimated timing.
• Ending a mentoring relationship should come when value and learning declines. You may seek several mentors over time, as needs and situations change.
